A performance project initiated by visual artist Merel Noorlander and created in collaboration with sound artist Ibelisse Guardia Ferragutti.

This performance focuses on the cyborg as a philosophical concept from Donna Harraway, with the bionic human being as a technological mutant who can constantly change meaning.

In order to create the choreography, Ploegaerts took inspiration from female cyborgs present in mangas and films as well as our interaction with technology in daily life (screens, social media,...).

Movement, light and foldable structures are sculpting the body to reinvent the self and its environment, the space becomes an active participant. The framework is flexible, adaptable, the resulting shape is each time the sum of more forces, over and over.

This project was sponsored by Gerbrandy Cultuurfonds and Soledad Art Foundation.
